Time begins to flow in the first scene when the paper screen gets ripped from right to left. Beyond the Pale focuses on the juxtaposition and contrast of duality — the stage, props, and costumes all adopt the minimalistic fashion of black and white, and the interaction between the two colours creates a unique sense of space, full of symbolistic power and beauty, bringing the energy of dancing back to abstraction and purity by matching string music with neat and smooth movements.

From the tension of dual elements to at last the relationship between paper and people, the similarity and compatibility in terms of shaping and sound emerges self-evidently. The dance work is profound, sharp, ethereal, and rich in aftertaste.
